(4) Cloisonne Enameled Porcelain Items. Lot of four cloisonne enamel porcelain items, two vases and two jars, with elaborate floral design and gilt wire outlining. Vases with butterflies.

Cloisonné is a dazzling decorative art form that involves fusing colored enamel within delicate metal compartments, or cloisons, to create intricate, jewel-like designs on objects ranging from vases and bowls to jewelry and figurines. Originating in the ancient Near East and perfected in China during the Ming Dynasty, cloisonné combines meticulous craftsmanship with vivid artistry. Fine wires are bent into complex patterns—floral scrolls, dragons, phoenixes—and filled with powdered enamel, which is then fired and polished to a glossy finish. The result is a richly textured surface where metal and color dance in harmony, a testament to centuries of refined skill and vibrant cultural symbolism.
