(4) Chinese Porcelain Footed Cups or Bowls. Group of four various small Chinese porcelain cups with solid glazed colors. Three marked on base, one unmarked.

Chinese porcelain tea cups are a refined and culturally significant form of ceramic ware, embodying centuries of tradition in tea culture and craftsmanship. Typically small, handleless, and delicate, these cups are designed to enhance the appreciation of tea's aroma, flavor, and temperature. Originating from the Tang and Song dynasties and perfected in the Ming and Qing periods, porcelain tea cups were often made in the famed kilns of Jingdezhen, celebrated for producing thin-walled, translucent, high-fired porcelain. Decoration styles range from minimalist white and celadon glazes to intricate blue-and-white patterns or colorful overglaze enamels like famille rose. These tea cups reflect both functional elegance and symbolic aesthetics, often bearing motifs of longevity, harmony, or nature, and remain an integral part of Chinese tea ceremonies and cultural identity.
