Yuko Kimura (b. 1968) is a Japanese‑American contemporary artist and printmaker whose layered, mixed‑media works blend traditional Japanese materials with experimental techniques to create richly textured abstractions. Born in Oakland, California and raised in Tokyo, she moved to the United States in 1989 and earned a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art and an MFA in printmaking from the University of Michigan School of Art and Design. Kimura’s work incorporates etching, aquatint, monotype, indigo dye, and collage on handmade papers and antique book pages, often exploring themes of history, memory, and the beauty of impermanence, and is represented in collections including the Cleveland Museum of Art, Minneapolis Institute of Art, and the Morikami Museum. She has exhibited widely in the U.S. and internationally and is associated with galleries such as the Verne Collection of Japanese Art and Cavin‑Morris Gallery.
