(3) Signed American Studio Art Glass Vases. The largest piece is highly iridescent with many swirling light color patterns in the rich dark glass in a unique triangular shape, and is simply signed with an ornate "Jozef~" on the underside. The second largest piece had  flared top and metallic scale-like decorations across one side, signed and dated '93 on the bottom edge by Buzz Williams. The smallest piece is more clear, and signed and dated '89 on the underside by David VanNoppen.

David VanNoppen was born in Boone, North Carolina in 1962, and graduated with a BS in Art Marketing and Production from the Appalachian State University in 1984. He then spent two years learning the art of glassblowing at the Penland School of Crafts before taking further courses at the Pilchuck School and the Corning Studio, eventually settling in Laguna Hills, California and opening VanNoppen Glass Studio in nearby Altadena in 1990. His works, heavily influenced by nature and his upbringing exploring the Appalachians, can be found in museums, galleries, and private collections around the world. 

Edward “Buzz” Williams was born in 1940 in Portland, Oregon and became one of the foundational American studio glass artists of his generation. After earning a degree in painting from ⁠Portland State University he took a formative glassblowing workshop and relocated to Lincoln City in 1968. Along with his wife and assistant Anne he built the first Alder House the following year, an A-frame studio using logs and materials salvaged from the beach. Since 1971 he has operated out of the ⁠Alder House Glassblowing Studio, famous for its open-to-the-public live demonstrations. Over a career spanning more than five decades, Williams has become highly collected for his sculpted studio art glass, specializing in pieces like layered cobalt blue vases, iridescent paperweights, and pulled-bulb designs, and his impact on glass artists in Oregon, Washington, and California has been immense.
