This is a group of three (3) lithographs by Peter Max. They all depict famous people from the 1960's and '70's, and they are all signed and numbered. They also have a round raised-relief stamp marked "Peter Max 2004" in the lower left of each piece. Peter Max was born in Berlin, his family moved to China when he was very young, and later they moved to the United States, where Peter became a visionary pop artist; his colors and themes revolutionized art in the 1960's. The first lithograph shows Walter Cronkite, a famed news anchor known for his warm voice and emotional coverage of the assassination of President Kennedy. The litho is signed by Max and numbered 18/100 in the margin. Cronkite also signed the lithograph in pencil in the bottom margin. The second lithograph depicts George and Barbara Bush. Bush was the 41st President of the United States. The piece is signed by Max and numbered 15/100 in the margin. The third lithograph features Mike Love, the lead singer for the Beach Boys. It is signed by Max and numbered 8/125 in the margin. The overall size of each lithograph is 24 x 18 in. wide.
