(3) Edmund Blampied (1886-1966) British, Figural Etchings on Paper. A trio of intaglio prints on paper by Edmund Blampied (British/Jersey, 1886-1966), depicting expressive rustic genre scenes. This set includes the works titled Cider Drinkers, The Letter, and The Conversation/Politics. The prints are executed with etching and drypoint techniques, displaying the characteristic velvety burr and dynamic line work associated with the artist. Each work features a distinct plate mark and is signed BLAMPIED in the plate. The subjects consist of a group of four men and a dog gathered around a tavern table, a trio of figures in an animated celebratory pose, and three men sharing a meal, with the latter dated 1925 in the plate. The impressions show good overall contrast. Each work is housed in a matching gilt-finish frame with a tan mat.
Size: 13 x 14 1/2 x 1 in.
