(2) Vintage Japanese Fukagawa Porcelain Flared Vases. They feature matching deep cobalt blue glaze with gold-rimmed bamboo and leaf designs. Marked on the underside with Mount Fuji, the symbol of the company. 

Size: 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 in. 

Fukagawa China (often referred to as Fukagawa-Seiji) is a highly esteemed, historic Japanese porcelain manufacturer based in Arita, Saga Prefecture, the birthplace of Japanese porcelain. Founded in 1894, the company is globally celebrated for its nearly transparent white porcelain, high-temperature firing, and hand-painted artistry, first gaining European acclaim at the 1900 Paris International Exposition where it won the prestigious gold medal for a massive hand-painted flower vase. Today the company continues to hand-paint every piece, retaining their traditional practices and a significant market share despite mass-produced alternatives popping up throughout the 20th Century.
