(2) Vintage Chinese Blue and White Ceramic Jardinieres. Pair of blue and white Chinese ceramic jardinieres with floral and foliate design on exterior. 

Chinese jardinieres are large, wide-mouthed ceramic vessels traditionally used to display ornamental plants or small trees, both indoors and in garden settings. Often crafted from porcelain or stoneware and richly decorated with hand-painted designs—such as dragons, phoenixes, floral scrolls, or auspicious symbols—these vessels serve as both functional planters and statement art pieces. Their generous proportions and rounded forms provide a stable base for potted arrangements, while the absence of drainage holes makes them suitable for indoor use, often as decorative cachepots. Originating as part of the broader tradition of integrating nature and beauty within the home, Chinese jardinieres reflect the cultural value placed on harmonious living spaces and the blending of art with everyday life.
