(2) Tokuriki Tomikichiro (1902-2000) Japanese, Landscape Woodblock Prints. Lot comprised of two Japanese landscape woodblock prints. The top one is Yamata Shigisan Shrine, and the bottom one is Töshögü Shrine at Nikkö, Shimotsuke.

Sight Size: 10 x 14 1/2 in. 

Tokuriki Tomikichirō (1902–2000) was a Kyoto-born artist from an artisan family tied to the Honganji Temple, trained in both Western (Yōga) and traditional Japanese (Nihonga) painting. He became a key figure in the Sōsaku Hanga movement, creating self-carved and self-printed works while also producing commercial Shin Hanga landscapes for publishers like Uchida and Unsōdō. In 1932, he co-founded Taishū Hanga magazine and later established publishing firms Matsukyū and Kōrokusha to promote both his and others' prints. Known for series like Thirty Views of Kyoto and Twelve Months in Kyoto, he remained a prolific printmaker, teacher, and writer on print techniques until his death.
