Two Signed books by the 39th President of the United States. Both are in excellent condition.

"An Hour Before Daylight" Memories of a Rural Boyhood  Autographed Book by The former president.

Fine Condition;  Hardcover.  Nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, "An Hour Before Daylight" is a heartfelt recollection of Jimmy Carter (James Earl Carter Jr.) as a young boy growing up on his parent's" sharecropper" peanut farm in rural Georgia during the Depression Era. The writings of his humble beginnings without indoor plumbing and lighting only by kerosene lamps, his morning chores before school and a strong faith that has stayed with him for over 90 years has made him a role model for all. He is considered one of the greatest humanitarians of our time. His boyhood was before the Civil Rights era. He writes of his fair and respectful yet "segregationist" Father, well-read Mother and others that shaped his early years. He recalls as a child that neither he nor his good friend ever gave it a thought when they went to town to the movie theatre and had to enter through different doors and sit separately and return home on segregated trains. "I don't remember ever questioning the mandatory racial separation, which we accepted like breathing.", Carter writes. After his youth, he became a Naval Officer, a Governor, a state Senator and served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977-1981. In 2002 he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his work with the Carter Center and continued his work traveling extensively conducting peace negotiations, observing elections, advancing disease prevention and eradication in developing nations. He remains a key figure in the "Habitat For Humanity"

The Nobel Peace Prize Lecture 2002. Original avo, original cloth. Boldly signed by Jimmy Carter on the title page. Fine in a fine dust jacket. Jacket design by Michael Accordino. Jimmy Carter was the thirty-ninth President of the United States, serving from 1977 to 1981. Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002, "for his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development.".
