(2) Russian Hand Painted Wooden Icons - Saint Cyril, Saint Nicholas. Lot comprised of two Russian hand-painted wooden icons, one depicting Saint Cyril (with Certificate of Authenticity on reverse), smaller icon with Saint Nicholas. 

Saints Cyril and Nicholas are two distinct figures revered across Christian traditions, each associated with different aspects of faith and service. Saint Cyril, a 9th-century Byzantine missionary, is best known for co-creating the Glagolitic alphabet (which later evolved into Cyrillic) with his brother Methodius, enabling the translation of Scripture into Slavic languages and laying the foundation for Slavic Christianity. Saint Nicholas, a 4th-century bishop of Myra in modern-day Turkey, is remembered for his generosity, miracles, and protective role over children and sailors—his legends forming the basis for the modern figure of Santa Claus. While Cyril is honored for intellectual and missionary work, Nicholas is cherished for his pastoral care and acts of mercy; together, they reflect the diverse ways sainthood manifests in Christian history.
