Rookwood Pottery, founded in 1880 by Maria Longworth Nichols in Cincinnati, Ohio, became one of the most influential American art pottery manufacturers. Known for its high-quality craftsmanship, innovative glazes, and detailed hand-painted designs, Rookwood set the standard for ceramic artistry in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The company produced a range of decorative and utilitarian wares, including vases, tiles, and architectural pieces, often featuring nature-inspired motifs and Art Nouveau influences. Despite financial struggles in the mid-20th century, Rookwood was revived and continues to produce fine ceramics, maintaining its legacy of artistry and innovation.
