Mexican Coke, often called “Mexicoke,” is bottled in Mexico that has developed a cult following in the United States and beyond, largely because it is sweetened with cane sugar rather than high-fructose corn syrup. Many drinkers claim this gives it a cleaner, crisper flavor reminiscent of Coca-Cola’s original taste. Packaged in traditional glass bottles with the familiar contoured shape, Mexican Coke also appeals to nostalgia and the sensory experience of drinking from glass rather than plastic or cans. While debates over flavor differences continue, its reputation as the “better Coke” has made it a popular import and an enduring symbol of how ingredients and packaging can shape perceptions of authenticity.
