(2) Marble and Bronze Obelisks. Pair of marble obelisks with bronze mounts and accents, four paw feet on elevated pillars, bronze finial.

Decorative obelisks are ornamental versions of the ancient architectural form, typically featuring a tall, slender, four-sided shape that tapers to a pyramid-like point at the top. Inspired by Egyptian obelisks—originally monumental stone pillars associated with the sun god Ra—these smaller, stylized versions became popular in European interior décor during the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly within neoclassical and empire-style design. Often crafted from marble, crystal, wood, or metal, decorative obelisks serve as elegant accents on mantels, desks, or pedestals, symbolizing stability, timelessness, and a fascination with antiquity. Today, they remain favored in both traditional and eclectic interiors, valued for their sculptural presence and historical resonance.
