(2) Large Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Urns. Pair of large Chinese famille rose porcelain urn vases with floral motifs and dense foliate accents, molded lizards around rim, molded mythical creatures (possibly foo dogs reclining) on neck.

Chinese porcelain urns are elegant and often highly decorative vessels traditionally used for ceremonial, storage, or display purposes, reflecting the rich heritage of Chinese ceramic artistry. Crafted in imperial kilns like those of Jingdezhen, these urns vary widely in shape and size but are typically distinguished by their rounded bodies, narrow necks, and domed lids—sometimes topped with guardian lion finials. Designs often feature intricate motifs such as dragons, phoenixes, lotus flowers, and cloud patterns, rendered in underglaze blue, famille rose, or celadon glazes. While some porcelain urns served practical functions—holding tea, spices, or ashes—many were created for imperial households or export markets, admired for their craftsmanship and symbolic decoration. As both artistic objects and historical artifacts, they embody centuries of cultural tradition and aesthetic refinement.
