(2) Chinese Carved Precious Stone Figures of Foo Dog and Ganesha. Lot comprised of two Chinese carved precious stone figures, one jade foo dog and one malachite Ganesha.

Foo dogs and Ganesh are distinct yet deeply symbolic figures in Asian art, each serving as a powerful guardian and spiritual emblem within their respective cultures. Foo dogs, also known as guardian lions, originate from Chinese tradition and are typically placed in pairs at the entrances of temples, palaces, or homes to ward off evil spirits and protect sacred spaces; they embody strength, vigilance, and imperial authority. Ganesh, by contrast, is a beloved Hindu deity from India, instantly recognizable by his elephant head and revered as the remover of obstacles, patron of wisdom, and bringer of good fortune. While rooted in different religious and cultural backgrounds, both figures offer protective and auspicious qualities, making them popular decorative and spiritual objects in diverse settings. Their presence together in a display represents a unique fusion of cultural reverence and symbolic harmony.
