(2) Cast Metal Brutalist Figural Sculptures. Two brutalist figural sculptures, one depicting a kneeling golfer assessing the distance to the next hole, the other a pair of figures, male and female, in an animated conversation.

Tallest Size: 6 x 3 x 9 in. 

Brutalism was an architectural and artistic movement that emerged in the mid-20th century, characterized by raw, exposed materials, geometric forms, and a utilitarian aesthetic. Originating in architecture with figures like Le Corbusier and Alison & Peter Smithson, it extended into visual arts and sculpture, emphasizing rough textures and industrial materials such as concrete, steel, and glass. Brutalist art often rejected ornamentation in favor of stark, powerful compositions that conveyed a sense of strength and honesty. While initially celebrated for its boldness and functionality, the movement later faced criticism for its perceived harshness and association with urban decay. Today, Brutalism is experiencing a resurgence, appreciated for its uncompromising aesthetic and cultural significance.
