Preisner Silver Company, based in Wallingford, Connecticut, was a respected American silversmith known primarily for its sterling and silver-plated hollowware during the mid-20th century. The company specialized in elegant, classically styled items such as candlesticks, compotes, bowls, and trophies, often marked with “Preisner Sterling” or a “P” hallmark. While not as widely recognized as some larger firms, Preisner gained a loyal following for its quality craftsmanship and understated refinement. Its pieces, typically produced in traditional forms with smooth finishes or minimal ornamentation, remain desirable for collectors seeking timeless American silver with a clean, formal aesthetic.
