19C O/C German Genre Painting, Frame as Is. A Genre painting was a way for artists to capture day to day aspects of life. In this image he woman in the scene is lighting the mans pipe with the dog watching the two. A seemingly regular event often taken for granted frozen in time capturing the young family's love and empathy for one another. Frame and Canvas look to both be original and or have similar signs of aging on the back commensurate with age. The Frame is missing pieces, and the paint is slightly cracking due to age.
