The Atlanta International Pop Festival was a significant music event held twice in Georgia during the late 1960s. The first festival took place on July 4–5, 1969, at the Atlanta International Raceway in Hampton, Georgia, approximately 20 miles south of Atlanta. Organized by a 17-member team led by promoter Alex Cooley, the festival attracted an estimated 80,000 to 150,000 attendees. Performers included Janis Joplin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Led Zeppelin, and the Chicago Transit Authority.
