Founded in 1918 in Selzach, Switzerland, by Silvain Kocher and his son Erwin, Eska (a phonetic spelling of “S.K.” for S. Kocher) established a reputation for high-quality, elegant wristwatches. Their acquisition of sporty Royce watches in 1935 nearly doubled their market share by the 1970s, but both brands suffered tremendously during the Quartz Crisis and were discontinued in the mid 1980s. Their early dress, automatic, and dive watches like the Amphibian 600 are still highly sought by collectors, and Eska was revived in 2024 to great acclaim.
