This Cabinet was used in a Tacoma, Washington drug store in the early 1900s by the staff & owner of the store. At the time it was a Swedish Lumber Town and has grown to the wonderful city it is today while holding onto its traditions. This piece was at least that old, but potentially older.

My Great Grandmother was born in Sweden 1865. She immigrated to Laconia Washington in 1889 at the age of 24 and married fellow swede in 1894. Tacoma was and is a huge timber town with many Swedish immigrants working in the timber trade. her grandmother worked in a shop that sold groceries & pharmaceuticals, she translated between the swedish lumberjacks and the american shop owners. This antique chest was used to store pharmaceuticals in that store.
