Delftware, or Delft earthenware, is a famous style of tin-glazed Dutch pottery that originated in the city of Delft, Netherlands, in the 17th century. Renowned for its distinctive cobalt blue and white decoration inspired by imported Chinese Ming porcelain, it expanded into a major European industry producing everything from decorative tiles to intricate vessels. While hundreds of potteries once operated during its Golden Age peak, centuries of tradition continue today through historic surviving workshops like Royal Delft.
