Impressive 17th century Flemish or Northern French baroque one-piece, walnut carving of the holy bishop St. Willibrord, an Anglo-Saxon missionary and saint, known as the "Apostle to the Frisians" in the modern Netherlands. Dramatically in motion, the bishop is adorned with flowing robes, cross and mitre, carrying a carved model of a church.
